This is my number one choice to remove spyware from your computer.

1. Spyware Detector:

Spyware Detector has the largest spyware detection database and it is also the most effective and easy to use spyware removal solution I tested.

I tested Spyware Detector on several public computers available to anyone (since they tend to have a higher concentration of offending infections than a home computer. Also I tested it on my home computer.

Most of the infections discovered were cleaned up and destroyed using the auto scan feature in only a few minutes.

Several of the more hardy spyware still remained. Which needed the help of Spyware Detector's support features. After this baby did its thing, virtually all of the spyware was gone. Why was some still left on? Find out why as we continue.

The spyware scanner is easy to use with just a click of a button needed to do the scan.

When the results of the scsn are displayed, and are simple to comprehend since each spyware is given a threat level indicator.

The scans were accurate and did not report any false infections, which is when a spyware removal product tells you you have an infection, when in fact you do not. Which as you can appreciate is not good! Imagine if an important peice of software on your computer was being accused of as being spyware? You delete it and your computer starts to run choppily or not at all....

Their database of spyware is the most comprehensive available, so more likely to detect any and all recent ones.

Tech Support:

As mentioned above, Spyware Detector removed almost all of the spyware, but not quite all.

The reason is, no piece of software is capable of removing every trace of spyware on its own unfortunately. Some of these are truly nasties, and need additional help to completely eradicate.

So how to deal with them? We have to turn to customer support. In this day and age, so many companies provide drastically poor customer service. Thankfully not so in Spyware Detector's case! They were knowledgable and happy to help. They gave me help until the problem was resolved.

What you do is, run a scan and then forward this scan onto tech support where they discover what action is needed and contact you how to deal with it.

I had all the computers that I used Spyware Dectetor on checked by a technition friend of mine, and he gave every computer that I tested Spyware Detector on along with the SD tech support, a clean bill of health.

Spyware Detector comes with many advanced features to help prevent spyware infections before they happen.

Spyware Detector is the more comprehensive and ease of use spyware remover I came across. I give it the highest recommendation and it is my own tool of choice to deal with spyware intruders.

Spyware Doctor comes in at two.

Spyware Doctor is a robust and solid spyware removal product.

It had a slightly higher rate of false infections than the first one rated.

Again, their updates are regular and often.

The interface is very clean and simple and very easy to use. Perhaps the easiest of all the products rated.

They have an extensive knowledge database of online answers to pretty much any questions you might have.

Overall, I was pretty happy with Spyware Doctor and if you choose this one, you will be rest assured your spyware infections are taken care of effectively and you can stop spyware on your computer today.

This one is also very easy to use, and comes in at number three.

More false infections than the first three.(having false psotives are the most important factor when choosing a spyware removal product), therefore the rating is much lower.

Scans your computer at regular intervals which you can set yourself.

As with all the others, has a Home Page Protection, which keeps your home page from being hijacked.

Special note: The Home Page Protection and Process monitor are turned off by default, so if you buy this one, please remember to turn them on.

A useful, mostly effective spyware remover.

I must admit though, a friend of mine recently had a nasty bit of keylogging malware that simply would not let go.

NoAdware finshes my top 4.

Has most of the features and benefits of the other spyware removers.

However, it did not detect many of the infections of the computers I tested. Probably because there database is more limited in scope (it can't find what it doesn't have).

It did however have a low false infection rate, which was pleasing. Unfortunately, the smallish database let it down somewhat badly.

This is an older program, and my guess is they haven't kept up with the times and focused on increasing the size of their database.

In the future they might, but for now, they deserve the lowest rating of my picks.
